Home Enthronement

Protect & strengthen your family by making
the Sacred & Immaculate Hearts its King and Queen.

Enthronement of our homes to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and their consecration to the Immaculate Heart of Mary are an excellent means of sanctifying, protecting, enhancing and preserving marriage and family life.

This devotion was prompted by the Sacred Heart of Jesus Himself. It renders Jesus our King and the Immaculate Heart of Mary our Queen. When we enthrone the Sacred Heart of Jesus as King and Head of our home we are turning our lives and hearts over to Him, confident that He will bless, guide and protect us always. Our Consecration to the Immaculate Heart of Mary acknowledges her as our spiritual Mother and implores her to extend her mantle of love, comfort and protection over us and to lead us into a deeper relationship with her Son. Enthroned homes become Domestic Churches in which Jesus and Mary are participants in the everyday lives of all members of our families. The sanctification of daily duty – that most fundamental call of Our Lady of Fatima – is much easier to achieve in such an environment.

The word home in this context refers to family, not to the house in which a family lives which sometimes changes. Home enthronement is not the blessing of a house which should be done whenever a family moves. While home enthronement may be renewed from time to time, it is permanent.

The Home Enthronement ceremony itself always takes place in the home. Preparation, although normally taking place in the home, may occasionally be done elsewhere.  A Pastor, for example, might prepare a group of families together, and then visit each home individually to conduct the ceremony. When a priest or permanent deacon is not able to officiate at Home Enthronement ceremonies the head of the household does so.

For more information about Home Enthronement, or to obtain assistance in scheduling an Enthronement, contact Kristin Stravinsky, our National Chairperson, at 903-495-2020 or stravs2plus3@yahoo.com.  She will answer your questions, assist you during the process, and provide advice on how to locate a priest or permanent deacon in your area to come to your home to assist at the ceremony.

The 12 promises Jesus revealed to St. Margaret Mary of Alacoque to those who practice devotion to His Sacred Heart:

  1. I will give them all the graces necessary for their state of life.
  2. I will establish peace in their families.
  3. I will console them in all their troubles.
  4. They shall find in My Heart an assured refuge during life and especially at the hour of their death.
  5. I will pour abundant blessings on all their undertakings.
  6. Sinners shall find in My Heart the source of an infinite ocean of mercy.
  7. Tepid souls shall become fervent.
  8. Fervent souls shall speedily rise to great perfection.
  9. I will bless the homes where an image of My Heart shall be exposed and honored.
  10. I will give to priests the power of touching the most hardened hearts.
  11. Those who propagate this devotion shall have their names written in My Heart, never to be effaced.
  12. The all-powerful love of My Heart will grant to all those who shall receive Communion on the First Friday of nine consecutive months the grace of final repentance; they shall not die under my displeasure, nor without receiving their Sacraments; My heart shall be their assured refuge at that last hour.
