WAF USA to work under the guidance of new Bishop

Bishop Checchio with David and Dorothy Carollo

Monsignor James Checchio was consecrated a Bishop and installed as the 5th Ordinary of our home Diocese of Metuchen on Tuesday, May 3. A priest of the Diocese of Camden, Bishop Checchio is returning to the U.S. and to New Jersey from Rome where he served as the rector of North American College for the last 10 years.

In his closing remarks at the Installation Mass he said it was good to be back home in New Jersey and that he was looking forward to getting to know all of his priests as well as all of us who work in the service of the Church. We look forward to working under his guidance for Our Lord and His Blessed Mother.

We also join His Excellency in thanking Bishop Emeritus Bootkoski for his service to the Church.  We especially wish to thank him once again for his friendship to The World Apostolate of Fatima and the Blue Army Shrine for these many years.  We hope that he will continue to be a visitor to the shrine.

Let us keep both of them in our prayers.

God bless,

David M Carollo
Executive Director
