Rosary for Life – Luminous Mysteries of the Rosary
Pope John Paul II has given us two great gifts: the mysteries of light as a part of the Holy Rosary, and the Gospel of Life in his great encyclical Evangelium Vitae. The following meditations on the mysteries of light are offered as a prayer for all life, from conception to natural death.
Sign of the Cross.
The Apostles Creed
I believe in God, the Father almighty, Creator of heaven and earth, and in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died and was buried; he descended into hell; on the third he rose again from the dead; he ascended into heaven, and is seated at the right hand of the God the Father almighty; from there he will come to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and life everlasting, Amen.
Our Father
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name; Thy kingdom come; Thy will be done on earth as it is heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those that trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation; and deliver us from evil. Amen.
Hail Mary
Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee; Blessed art thou amongst women and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now, and at the hour of our death. Amen.
Hail Mary, full of grace, …
Hail Mary, full of grace, …
Glory Be to the Father
Glory be to the Father, and to the son, and to the Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.
First Mystery of Light: Baptism in the River Jordan
Prayer Intention: That all baptized Christians will be open to the Holy Spirit and bear witness to the sanctity of life.
The Lord Jesus is Baptized in the Jordan River by John the Baptist, as a voice cries to us from the heavens: “This is my beloved Son, hear him!” Let us listen to Christ and, with his grace, work for the protection of every person from conception to natural death.
May the grace of this mystery come down into my soul.
Our Father, who art in heaven, …
Holy Mary, Mother of Life: Bless each unborn child, with the abundance of your love.

The Second Mystery of Light: The Wedding Feast at Cana
Prayer Intention: For all husbands and wives, that they treasure the priceless gift of married love by generously accepting children through procreation and adoption.
When they had run out of wine, Jesus blessed water and turned it into wine. May Jesus transform the darkness of sin and death in the proclamation of the Gospel of Life.
May the grace of this mystery come down into my soul.

Glory to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit:
as it was in the beginning, is now, and will be for ever. Amen.
Third Mystery of Light: Proclamation of the Kingdom of God
Prayer Intention: That those who pray and work for greater respect for human life will be guided by the Beatitudes and reveal the face of Christ to others.
Jesus called the crowds to conversion, proclaiming that the Kingdom of God is at hand. May this world choose life and turn from all that leads to darkness and death.
May the grace of this mystery come down into my soul.
Our Father, who art in heaven, …
Holy Mary, Mother of Life: Pray for all new mothers in need of your example.

Fourth Mystery of Light: Transfiguration
Prayer Intention: That our world will be transfigured by the witness of faithful Christians so that all may understand the priceless value of every human being.
The Lord Jesus led Peter, James and John with him to the top of the mountain where he was transfigured in light, and his garments shown whiter than snow. May Christ’s glorious light shine on all who dwell in the shadow of darkness and sin.
May the grace of this mystery come down into my soul.
Our Father, who art in heaven, …
Holy Mary, Mother of Life: Show us the sacredness of newborn life in Jesus your Son.

Fifth Mystery of Light: Institution of the Eucharist
Prayer Intention: That through our worthy reception of the Eucharist and frequent Eucharistic Adoration, Jesus will teach us to love sacrificially the least and neediest among us.
On the night before he suffered, he took bread, blessed it, broke it, gave it to his disciples, and said, take this, all of you, and eat it. This is my body. When supper was ended, he took a cup filled with wine, gave it to them, and said, take this, all of you, and drink from it, for this is the cup of my blood. Strengthened by the Holy Eucharist, may we work to proclaim the Gospel of life and defend all who are endangered by the culture of death.
May the grace of this mystery come down into my soul.

Saint Michael Prayer
Saint Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle. Be our protection against the wickedness and snares of the Devil. Amen.
HYMN: How Great Thou Art
O Lord my God, When I in awesome wonder,
Consider all the worlds Thy Hands have made;
I see the stars, I hear the rolling thunder,
Thy power throughout the universe displayed.
Then sings my soul, My Saviour God, to Thee,
How great Thou art, How great Thou art.
Then sings my soul, My Saviour God, to Thee,
How great Thou art, How great Thou art!
When through the woods, and forest glades I wander,
And hear the birds sing sweetly in the trees.
When I look down, from lofty mountain grandeur
And see the brook, and feel the gentle breeze.
Then sings my soul, My Saviour God, to Thee,
How great Thou art, How great Thou art.
Then sings my soul, My Saviour God, to Thee,
How great Thou art, How great Thou art!
And when I think, that God, His Son not sparing;
Sent Him to die, I scarce can take it in;
That on the Cross, my burden gladly bearing,
He bled and died to take away my sin.
Then sings my soul, My Saviour God, to Thee,
How great Thou art, How great Thou art.
Then sings my soul, My Saviour God, to Thee,
How great Thou art, How great Thou art!
When Christ shall come, with shout of acclamation,
And take me home, what joy shall fill my heart.
Then I shall bow, in humble adoration,
And then proclaim: “My God, how great Thou art!”
Then sings my soul, My Saviour God, to Thee,
How great Thou art, How great Thou art.
Then sings my soul, My Saviour God, to Thee,
How great Thou art, How great Thou art!

Prayer of the Nine-Month Novena to Our Lady of Guadalupe
O Virgin Mother of God, we fly to your protection and beg your intercession against the darkness and sin which ever more envelop the world and menace the Church. Your Son, Our Lord Jesus Christ, gave you to us as our Mother as He died on the Cross for our salvation. So too, in 1531, when darkness and sin beset us, He sent you, as Our Lady of Guadalupe, on Tepeyac, to lead us to Him Who alone is our Light and our salvation.
Through your apparitions on Tepeyac and your abiding presence with us on the miraculous mantle of your messenger, Saint Juan Diego, millions of souls converted to faith in your Divine Son. Through this Novena and our consecration to you, we humbly implore your intercession for our daily conversion of life to Him and the conversion of millions more who do not yet believe in Him. In our homes and in our nation, lead us to Him Who alone wins the victory over sin and darkness in us and in the world.
Unite our hearts to your Immaculate Heart so that they may find their true and lasting home in the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus. Ever guide us along the pilgrimage of life to our eternal home with Him. So may our hearts, one with yours, always trust in God’s promise of salvation, in His never-failing mercy toward all who turn to Him with a humble and contrite heart. Through this Novena and our consecration to you, O Virgin of Guadalupe, lead all souls in America and throughout the world to your Divine Son in Whose Name we pray. Amen.
To be prayed daily throughout the Nine-Month Novena
from March 12 to December 12, 2024.

Prayer of Consecration of America
by Archbishop John Carroll
Our Lady as Patroness of the United States under her title of the Immaculate Conception, has had a special presence in the Americas for over five hundred years. … Father John Carroll was named its first bishop and was consecrated on August 15, 1791, the Solemnity of the Assumption of our Lady. Below is the prayer of consecration was prayed by our first bishop: Bishop John Carroll of Baltimore.
Most Holy Trinity: Our Father in heaven who chose Mary as the fairest of Your daughters; Holy Spirit who chose Mary as Your spouse; God the Son who chose Mary as Your Mother, in union with Mary, we adore Your majesty and acknowledge Your supreme eternal dominion and authority. Most Holy Trinity we place the United States of America into the hands of Mary Immaculate in order that she may present the country to you. Through her, we wish to thank you for the great resources of this land and for the freedom which has been its heritage. Through the intercession of Mary, have mercy on the Catholic Church of America.
Grant us peace. Have mercy on our President and on all the officers of our government. Grant us a fruitful economy born of justice and labor. Protect the family life of the nation. Guard the precious gift of many religious vocations.
Through the intercession of Mary our mother, have mercy on the sick, the tempted, sinners, on all who are in need. Mary, Immaculate Virgin, our Mother. Patroness of our land, we praise and honor you and give ourselves to you. Protect us from every harm. Pray for us that acting always according to your will and the will of your Divine Son we may live and die pleasing to God. Amen.
PRAYER TO OUR LADY, THE IMMACULATE VIRGIN, PATRONESS OF AMERICA
O Immaculate Mother, Queen of our Country, open our hearts, our homes, and our Land to the coming of Jesus, your Divine Son. With Him, reign over us, O heavenly Lady, so pure and so bright with the radiance of God’s light shining in and about you. Be our Leader against the powers of evil set upon wresting the world of souls, redeemed at such a great cost by the sufferings of your Son and of yourself, in union with Him, from that same Savior, Who loves us with infinite charity.
We gather about you, O chaste and holy Mother, Virgin Immaculate, Patroness of our beloved Land, determined to fight under your banner of holy purity against the wickedness that would make all the world an abyss of evil, without God and without your loving maternal care. We consecrate our hearts, our homes, our Land to your Most Pure Heart, O great Queen, that the kingdom of your Son, our Redeemer and our God, may be firmly established in us.
We ask no special sign of you, sweet Mother, for we believe in your great love for us, and we place in you our entire confidence. We promise to honor you by faith, love, and the purity of our lives according to your desire.
Reign over us, then, O Virgin Immaculate, with your Son Jesus Christ. May His Divine Heart and your most chaste Heart be ever enthroned and glorified among us. Use us, your children of America, as your instruments in bringing peace among men and nations. Work your miracles of grace in us, so that we may be a glory to the Blessed Trinity, Who created, redeemed, and sanctifies us.
May your valiant Spouse, St. Joseph, with the holy Angels and Saints, assist you and us in “renewing the face of the earth.” Then when our work is over, come, Holy Immaculate Mother, and as our Victorious Queen, lead us to the eternal kingdom, where your Son reigns forever as King. Amen.
Thank you for attending and supporting the Rosary for Life Procession and this Consecration.
