Let us use the gifts of the Holy Spirit

by David M. Carollo, Executive Director –

The third Glorious Mystery of the Rosary is the decent of the Holy Spirit on Our Lady and the apostles. Pentecost is the birthday of the Church. Fifty days after Easter and ten days after the Ascension of Our Lord we celebrate the day when the mission of Faith was made clear to those entrusted with the work begun by Our Lord.  “Go and make disciples of all nations,” He said.

For the past two thousand years, salvation has come through those who are followers of the ones together in that room on Pentecost.  Many times in history since that day, heaven has raised up individuals and organizations charged with carrying on tasks in line with the mission given on Pentecost.  Our apostolate was formed in 1947 to bring Our Lady’s urgent message of peace and hope, given at Fatima to a wounded world.  Like Our Lady and the apostles on that special day, we must use the gifts of the Holy Spirit to accomplish our mission.

Come Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of the faithful and enkindle in them the fire of Thy love. Send forth Thy Spirit and they shall be created and Thou shall renew the face of the earth.

May you receive a special understanding of our mission as Catholics on this special day.

God bless you and have a holy and blessed feast of Pentecost.
