In Memoriam: Father Charles Fanelli

On July 17, 2024, the World Apostolate of Fatima USA/Our Lady’s Blue Army lost a long time member when Fr. Charles Fanelli passed away.

A priest of the Archdiocese of Chicago, he served as the spiritual director for the Chicago Division from 1993 until 2022. He also served as a trustee of WAF National from 2004 until 2022 when he retired from active ministry.

As pastor of St. John Vianney Parish in Northlake, Illinois in the 1990s, he established the first Perpetual Adoration chapel in the Archdiocese, which is still operating. His devotion to the Eucharist and to our Blessed Mother defined his priesthood.

We thank him for his dedicated service to his priesthood and to our apostolate.

Rest in peace Fr. Fanelli.

David M. Carollo is the Executive Director of the World Apostolate of Fatima USA/National Blue Army Shrine. He wrote this for his Voice of Fatima column.
