He is Truly Risen

The Triduum is now complete. Salvation has been obtained. The door to heaven is open. We must now choose whether or not we will walk through it.

The Greeks greet each other on Easter Sunday with the salutation “Christos Anesti” – He is Risen, to which the response is “Christos Alithos Anesti” – He is truly Risen.

The centenary anniversary of Fatima has begun as we have celebrated the first apparition of the Angel of Peace. The year 1916 was a preparation for the three children before the Mother of God came to them in 1917.  As such, 2016 must be a preparation for us in anticipation of the 100th anniversary of Our Lady’s appearances at Fatima next year, and a continuation of our work to bring about the Triumph of the Immaculate Heart.

The Year of Mercy carries on. The great act of mercy merited on Good Friday by our Savior was only the beginning. The Doors of Mercy which exist in dioceses around the world are open for us to walk through and receive the gift of great grace. We can choose to walk through these with the intention of obtaining a plenary indulgence, or we can choose not to; just as we can choose to avail ourselves of the gift of salvation given freely to us on Good Friday, or we can decline the offer.

In the garden Our Lord cried out to His Father, “If it be Thy will let this cup pass from Me, but not My will but Thine be done.” Our Lord saw the great number who would not avail themselves of this gift. He suffered for all but not all would accept it. This was the cause of His sorrow and discouragement. Let us work to convince more people by our works, prayers and actions that our true end is with Christ.

On behalf of the trustees, members, and staff of the World Apostolate of Fatima I wish you and your families a blessed Easter.

He is Risen, He is Truly Risen.

God bless you,

David M. Carollo
Executive Director
