Most Reverend Nicholas A. DiMarzio

Born in Newark, NJ, on June 16, 1944. His Excellency, the Most Reverend Nicholas DiMarzio, attended the Immaculate Conception Seminary in Darlington, NJ, was ordained a Roman Catholic Priest in 1970; and named Prelate of Honor by Pope John Paul II in 1986.

In July of 1999, Bishop DiMarzio was appointed as the Sixth Bishop of Camden, New Jersey, and served there until October 2003, when he was installed as the Seventh Bishop of Brooklyn at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Basilica. Bishop DiMarzio has spent his ministry of over 40 years in the areas of immigration assistance and refugee resettlement services.

Reverend Luke Mary Fletcher, C.F.R.

Reverend Fr. Luke grew up in small town Indiana. Raised nominally Catholic, he experienced a profound conversion while at a rock concert during his freshman year at Ball State U. He transferred to Franciscan University of Steubenville.

Upon graduating from Franciscan University in 1996, he joined the Community of Franciscan Friars of the Renewal. The friars live a radical life concentrated on prayer, fraternity, hands on work with the poor and the new evangelization. Fr. Luke was ordained to the priesthood in 2003. He served as vocation director, postulant director, and presently, director of priestly studies. Fr. Luke gives retreats and leads pilgrimages.

October 13, 1917 -The prediction of a public miracle caused intense speculation throughout Portugal, and the journalist, Avelino de Almeida, published a satirical article on the whole business in the anti-religious newspaper O Seculo. People from other parts of the country descended by the tens of thousands on the cova despite the terrible storm that lashed the mountain country around Fatima on the eve of the 13th.
