Mass is held in the Blessed Sacrament Chapel 7-days a week at 12:00 noon with the rosary and confessions at 11:30 am, unless otherwise noted in the event schedule below. Most Reverend Charles J. Chaput, OFM

Most Rev. Charles J. Chaput, OFM Cap, is the ninth and current Archbishop of Philadelphia, installed on September 8, 2011. He previously served as Archbishop of Denver and Bishop of Rapid City. As a member of the Prairie Band Potawatomi Tribe, Archbishop Chaput was the second Native American to be ordained a bishop in the United States, and the first Native American archbishop. Archbishop Chaput has been involved in numerous ministries, particularly related to evangelization, pro-life, family and education.

 

 

Speaker
Reverend Luke Mary Fletcher, CFR

Reverend Luke grew up in small town Indiana. Raised nominally Catholic, he experienced a profound conversion while at a rock concert during his freshman year at Ball State U. He transferred to Franciscan University of Steubenville.

Upon graduating from Franciscan University in 1996, he joined the Community of Franciscan Friars of the Renewal in the Bronx. The friars live a radical life concentrated on prayer, fraternity, hands on work with the poor and the new evangelization. Fr. Luke was ordained to the priesthood in 2003. He has served as vocation director, postulant director, and presently as director of priestly studies. Fr. Luke gives retreats and leads pilgrimages.

Join us at the Capelinha:
Please join us for a talk on the history of the Caplinha, with exhibit at approximately 3:00 pm, after the Brown Scapular Enrollment.

May 13, 1917  – On May 13, 1917 the three children took their flocks out to pasture in the small area known as the Cova da Iria. After lunch and the rosary they suddenly saw a bright flash of something like lightning, followed quickly by another flash in the clear blue sky.
